Dr. David G. Shulman
David G. Shulman, M.D. is a board certified ophthalmologist practicing in the San Antonio area for the past 27 years. He graduated from Creighton University School of Medicine in 1972 and completed his internship and three year residency in ophthalmology at Scott and White Clinic in Temple, Texas.
Dr. David Shulman has a special interest in cataract and refractive surgery, having performed refractive surgical procedures since 1985. He is certified in IntraLase® procedures. He offers both photorefractive keratectomy (PRK) and LASIK. He provides the latest technological advances, CustomVue™ and IntraLase®, for his patients. He has participated in clinical research concerning ophthalmic drugs for the treatment of glaucoma, eye infections and allergic conditions of the eye.
Dr. Shulman is a clinical professor of ophthalmology at the University of Texas Health Science Center, San Antonio. He has served his medical community by being President of the Texas Ophthalmologic Association in 1993, President of the Bexar County Medical Society in 1995, and President of the San Antonio Society of Ophthalmology in 1997. He has had the honor of sitting on the Board of Trustees of the American Academy of Ophthalmology from 2000 to 2003.
Dr. Shulman has been married to Becky Shulman for over 38 years. They have two grown children, Lucia and Birge. Lucia Shulman Redmond and her husband Dr. James Redmond have their three children, Thomas, Rebekah and Ava. Birge Shulman, married to Julia Webster Shulman, is a computer consultant. Julia is in training to be Dr. Shulman's Physician Assistant.

Dr. Fernando Trujillo
Dr. Trujillo joined Dr. Shulman in practice in October 2004. He has completed a cornea fellowship and a refractive surgery fellowship. He provides comprehensive eye care as well as refractive and corneal surgery. Our two LASIK surgeons provide exceptional care.
Dr. Fernando Trujillo was born in Medellin, Colombia, where he attended the Instituto de Ciencias de la Salud, Colombia, receiving his M.D. in 1992. He continued his training at the Instituto Barraquer, Colombia, completing an ophthalmology residency in 1998 and a refractive surgery fellowship in 1999. In June 2000, he completed a clinical fellowship in corneal external diseases and refractive surgery with the Department of Ophthalmology at the University of Texas Health Sciences Center at San Antonio, Texas.
In June 2001, Dr. Trujillo completed his internal medicine internship with University of Texas Health Sciences Center at San Antonio, Texas. He completed his residency in ophthalmology at the University of Texas Health Sciences Center at San Antonio in July of 2004. Dr. Fernando Trujillo’s areas of interest in ophthalmology include refractive surgery and corneal transplantation.
